Robert W. Crandall is a Partner and founding member of Resolution Economics LLC. He has an M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University and a B.A. in History from the University of Southern California. Prior to the formation of Resolution Economics, Mr. Crandall was with the Dispute Consulting Group at Deloitte & Touche, the Economics & Litigation Services Group at Altschuler, Melvoin & Glasser, and the Dispute Analysis & Corporate Recovery Group at Price Waterhouse.

Mr. Crandall provides consulting services and expert witness testimony related to a variety practice areas including employment law, commercial damages, and complex litigation. He has considerable expertise in complex financial modeling, economic and statistical analysis, creating and analyzing large databases, designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys, designing and conducting time-in-motion studies, and in performing statistical analyses related to complex data intensive litigation assignments.

EMPLOYMENT LAW
Mr. Crandall analyzes liability, damages, and class-member commonality issues related to wage and hour claims. He is highly experienced in designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys and time-in-motion studies related to exempt / non-exempt status, hours worked, uncompensated time, missed breaks, and other issues. Mr. Crandall has also performed numerous statistical analysis of liability related to class action, multi-plaintiff, and single plaintiff claims of employment discrimination where he has analyzed claims of discrimination in hiring, promotion, placement, termination, discipline, and pay equity. Finally, Mr. Crandall has assisted counsel in estimating employment related economic damages in more than seventy-five single plaintiff cases, and numerous class action and multi-plaintiff matters. He has expertise in evaluating but-for earnings, job search efforts, mitigation opportunities, and losses related to stock options and other forms of equity.

COMMERCIAL DAMAGES AND COMPLEX LITIGATION
Mr. Crandall has extensive experience in performing economic and statistical analyses and data management and analyses related to commercial damages and complex data intensive issues. He has assisted counsel with economic and financial analyses related to allegations of breach of contract, patent, copyright, trademark, and trade dress infringement. Also, he is highly experienced in building databases from a variety of electronic platforms and paper records and in conducting statistical analyses of data.

Karyn Model, Ph.D.

Dr. Model is a Senior Economist at Resolution Economics LLC. She holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from Harvard University and a B.A. in Economics Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her fields of concentration while at Harvard were labor economics and econometrics. Prior to joining Resolution Economics, Dr. Model was Senior Consultant at National Economic Research Associates (NERA) in Los Angeles and Associate Economist at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California. She has had her research published in the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Inquiry.

Dr. Model has extensive experience in the application of economic and statistical analysis related to matters of litigation. She has performed statistical and damages analyses in employment, antitrust, and other areas of economics. Dr. Model has been named as an expert witness in several matters and has provided expert testimony at deposition, in mediation, in California Superior Court, and before the New Mexico State Corporation Commission. She has worked on behalf of both defendants and plaintiffs.

Brian Morel, M.B.A.

Mr. Morel is a Manager at Resolution Economics LLC. He has an M.B.A. with an emphasis on Finance and Business Strategy from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Prior to joining Resolution Economics, Mr. Morel was a Director of Business Development at Escalate, Inc., a leading provider of logistics software for the retail market. Before that he was a Director at The Walt Disney Company where he worked in various functional areas, including Corporate Finance, Strategic Planning, and Business Development at both Disney Consumer Products and the Disney Internet Group.

Mr. Morel has experience in the application of financial, economic, and statistical analysis to litigation and other general business matters. He has performed analyses in employment, breach of contract, complex litigation, and intellectual property matters. Mr. Morel has been named as an expert witness in California Superior Court. In addition, Mr. Morel oversees day-to-day operations of the firm's online division, Resolution Internet.

Chen Song, Ph.D., Economist

Dr. Song is an economist at Resolution Economics LLC. She has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago. Her areas of specialty include labor economics, econometrics, and financial economics. Dr. Song’s work in labor economics and econometrics focuses on economic damage calculations, statistical analyses related to random sampling and liability issues, and information management of human resource databases. She has been designated as an expert witness in a class action matter brought by the EEOC alleging gender discrimination, and has filed a declaration related to the statistical analysis of liability. Her practice in finance covers stock-option valuation techniques, Monte Carlo Simulation methods, and event-study analyses. Her engagement centers on the determination of reasonable compensations for CEOs in wrongful termination and marital dispute situations, as well as liability research under breach of contract allegations. She is a level III candidate for the Chartered Financial Analysis (CFA) program.

Dr. Song maintains a strong affiliation with the academic community. She serves as a senior investigator on a health economics project sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business. Her main responsibilities include writing grant proposals and publishing journal articles in labor economics, health economics, and law and economics. When she was a graduate student at the University of Chicago, she taught undergraduate courses in microeconomics and tutored graduate level mathematical methods in economics.
